For the first time, our Upper Elementary students will be participating in the National Geographic Geography Bee, which is held in schools throughout the nation each year. Our students will engage in part one of the “Geo Bee” in mid-January and are busy preparing. Learn more.

Additionally, our Upper and Lower El students are abuzz lately about spelling bees thanks to Upper Elementary student, Afif Rahman. Afif recently won a spelling bee in his hometown of South Windsor. He progressed to the district finals and will compete in the next round this winter. His excitement surrounding the fun of the event has sparked an interest in many of his classmates, who are now having fun quizzing each other on words and even challenging their families to give them words to spell.  We wish Afif luck as he enjoys the rest of his spelling-bee experience.  To view some of the study words for children in first through eighth grades, click here.
