Dear Families,

We’ve had a very busy week!

Aside from our day-to-day happenings, Tuesday night we had our Annual Meeting of the Board of Trustees, and it was a lovely gathering of Board members, staff and parents. The membership voted in 5 new trustees: Susan Roberts, a lawyer from Robinson and Cole who specializes in working with non-profits; Dahlia Saad Pendergrass, mom of Chloe and Adam; Jennifer Apgar, mom of Riley and Piper; Rahul Magavi, dad of Jaya and Priyanka, and Len Ellis, dad of Alex and William.  Welcome, one and all.  We heard about the state of the school (thriving and happy), our financial stability (sound and stable), and updates relative to our site planning (we are secure on the ASD campus for at least two years and continue our search). 

Wednesday night we welcomed alumni and their parents back to the fold as part of our Elementary Open House Dinner with Visiting Alumni; it was truly delightful to see old friends and to catch up on news and lives.  We can’t help but feel proud of these amazing people, each unique in his or her own way and oozing with confidence and purpose.  They came, not just to visit, but to talk with parents who inquired about their Montessori experience and their lives after Montessori. It was a bustling, busy, fun night.

Now we have a three-day weekend coming up, and the staff will welcome the opportunity to recover and re-energize.  We wish you the same!

Our first committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 24 at 8:45am at Panera Bread in West Hartford.

Financial Aid Applications Now Being Accepted

FA NEWS

New Date for Ice Skating Social (previous date conflicted with the Super Bowl):  The Family Association will be hosting an outdoor ice skating social at Simsbury Farms on Saturday, March 3. Visit the MSGH calendar for more details. 

Volunteers Needed:  Hosts are needed for upcoming Coffee Talks, spring PlayDates, and the Ice Skating Social. Contact Rebecca London if you can help.

One More Learn-to-Skate

Thursday, January 19 is the last day of the Learn-to-Skate program that the Elementary students have been participating in as part of their gym rotation.  Parents are welcome to observe.
