Jessica joined the MSGH community in 2008 after her lifelong friend and toddler teacher, Catherine Carrabba told her about an open assistant position in the primary room. For three years, Jessica assisted Ana in Primary two and just completed a full cycle with her first group of children. Inspired by her work each day, she began the intensive training to become a head Montessori classroom teacher in 2010 and will complete her training in the summer of 2012. She will formally move into the role of Montessori Intern in the Primary Four All Day Classroom and after she completes her training will join Nancy White as a second head teacher in P4.
Before beginning her work in the Montessori field, Jessica held several positions with elementary-aged children. She was an assistant at the Aiken Elementary School in West Hartford supporting children in grades pre-k through 5, was a youth program coordinator at Healthtrax Fitness Center, and continues to be a summer instructor at The University of Hartford’s Summer Place program.
Jessica holds a BA in English from Central Connecticut State University and is currently doing her AMI Primary training over multiple summers in Florida, where the Montessori Institute from San Diego holds east coast sessions.
In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family at their beach home in Cape Cod and loves to take Zumba!
