Liza Martin was introduced to the MSGH community in 2004 when her oldest son began attending, and by 2005 was substituting in the Primary classrooms. She officially joined the MSGH team as full-time staff member the following fall and has been with us over five years as an Assistant in the Primary Three Classroom. Liza is a professional artist, and prior to joining the MSGH team, was a faculty member at the university level supporting students at University of Virginia, Connecticut College and is currently an adjunct professor at Tunxis Community College. From 1992-1993, she lived in India for one year doing printmaking, batik and learning a textile technique called ikat, which has influenced her nature-inspired abstractions.
Liza holds a BA from Connecticut College and a MFA from Tyler School of Art. In her spare time, she enjoys making her art and being with her sons, both of whom attend MSGH.
