Anayancy Aguilar
Primary Two Teacher
"I love and respect each child in my classroom and feel very dedicated to my work with them. I want to support them as they learn, grow and feel good about themselves. For me, it’s pretty simple: I love kids. Each one of them is different, and I love them just the way they are when they come to me."

Ana has been with the MSGH community for over 20 years. Originally from Costa Rica, Ana moved to Los Angeles in 1988, where she spent five years as a teaching assistant in a nursery and kindergarten environment. Upon moving to Connecticut, Ana began a long career serving as an assistant in MSGH Primary classrooms. In 2004, she worked alongside Toko Blais as they began MSGH’s second toddler classroom. Together with Catherine Croce in the Toddler One classroom, they established the foundation for what is now a thriving, three-classroom program in our community. In 2007, Ana began studying under Kathy Aldridge in the Primary Two classroom while she completed her AMI training, and was the head teacher in the Primary Two classroom for four years. In 2012, Ana's role evolved to one as co-teacher in the Primary All-Day classroom.

Ana completed her education in Social and Family Education in Costa Rica in 1982 and began working toward her degree in early childhood education while living in Los Angeles. Choosing to continue her studies “in the field” while working with the staff of the Montessori School of Greater Hartford, Ana was inspired to complete her education with a focus on Montessori education and earned her AMI Primary Training diploma from the Montessori Training Center of New England in 2009.

Ana enjoys spending her free time relaxing and enjoying time as a family. Anyone who knows Ana knows she is an animal lover, so family time also includes lots of time with her two dogs, Kobe and Rico, and her other pets.
