Kathy Aldridge
Toddler One Teacher
"I believe in the proverb, 'The soul is healed by being with children.' Children at this age are only capable of living in the moment; they are not hindered by past regrets or future concerns. Their enthusiasm, determination, and energy are a joy to be around. They are natural learners with an inner curiosity and a drive to experience as much as they can get their hands on. Being with them and having the privilege of supporting their development, one can’t help but feel enriched. I am very fortunate to work each day at something I love, surrounded by staff I respect."

Kathy joined the MSGH community in 1994 when her son was a student in Una Barry’s Primary classroom. Enamored from the start of the MSGH community, Kathy quickly joined the Board of Trustees and then went on to become an assistant in the Primary community, where she remained for the next five years. As her passion for Montessori education grew, so too did her role in the school. Kathy served MSGH as a Primary teacher for seven years, after which she accepted an opportunity to join the administrative team as the Director of Development. Over the course of two years, she helped launch MSGH’s full-time development department before making a brief move to Florida. We were thrilled when she was able to return to us in 2011 to cover a maternity leave and once again lead a Primary classroom.

It wasn’t until 2012, however, that a long-awaited opportunity presented itself: Kathy was able to begin the AMI Infant Community training when a position opened up to teach in our Toddler Community.

Kathy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Connecticut, a Primary-level teaching certificate from Maria Montessori Training Organisation in London, England and is currently completing her AMI Infant Community training at The Montessori Institute in Denver, Colorado.

In her free time, she enjoys entertaining friends and family, hosting sleepover parties for her many great nieces and nephews and relaxing with a good book and a cup of tea.
