We provide an excellent educational experience for children and a welcoming community for growing families.

Montessori School of Greater Hartford (MSGH) is a nonprofit independent day school for children from 15 months – 15 years.  We provide an authentic Montessori educational experience within our toddler, primary and elementary programs and are recognized by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI.) Our school is also accredited by the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools (CAIS.)

Why MSGH?

We bring an extraordinary group of people together with decades of experience in Montessori education. As required for recognition, all of our teachers are AMI-certified. Our collective expertise helps children and parents navigate the challenges and joys of childhood.

Everything we do is based upon respect for the child and respect for the process of successful learning and development. True to the tenets of a Montessori-based program, we take a holistic view of children. Healthy childhood development and learning requires teachers to work in a more engaging way than most programs. At MSGH, teachers and staff observe, listen, and respond in ways that foster exploration, independence and optimism. Together we work to understand and support every child’s emotional, intellectual, physical and social growth.

Our Mission

The Montessori School of Greater Hartford fosters a strong foundation for confident, compassionate participation in the world by nurturing each child’s unique gifts, passion for learning, and independence.  As a community, we enrich families, live our diversity, and embody the Association Montessori Internationale standards of excellence.
